The Louisiana Association for Student Financial Aid Administrators (LASFAA) and the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Aid (LOSFA) host a free annual event called College Goal Sunday. It's held in February, which is Financial Aid Awareness month. It's goal is to help Louisiana college bound students and their families with the financial aid application process. Financial Aid professionals are on hand to help students and their parents complete the necessary paperwork (Free Application for Federal Student Aid - FAFSA) to get the funding needed to go to college with a particular focus on helping low-income, first-generation college student families. Louisiana had 16 sites throughout the state for the 2009 year.
